Meet Edwin Wong, Kids Magician in Singapore

Hi, I’m Edwin. Since 2011, I’ve had the privilege of bringing magic, laughter and interactive fun to children’s birthday parties, schools, community programmes and family events across Singapore.

For me, a memorable children’s show is not about performing the most complicated trick. It is about helping children feel comfortable enough to join in, making the birthday child feel genuinely celebrated, and creating a happy moment that families can enjoy together.

What I Hope to Bring to Every Celebration

Every party has its own energy. Some children are ready to participate immediately, while others need time and gentle encouragement before they feel comfortable joining in.

My role is to read the room, involve the children in a way that feels natural and keep the experience lively without making anyone feel pressured.

When the children are laughing together, the birthday child feels special, and parents can be present in the moment - that is a successful celebration to me.

My mission is simple: to create warm, interactive entertainment that brings children together and leaves families with a happy memory.

How My Journey With Magic Began

My interest in magic began during my school days, when I discovered how a small performance could turn curiosity into laughter and wonder.

I began practising, learning from books and other magicians, and slowly realised that the real strength of magic was not only the secret behind a trick. It was the connection created between the performer and the people watching.

I started performing for parties and events in 2011. Since then, every audience has taught me something, when to build excitement, when to slow down, how to encourage a shy volunteer and how to make participation feel enjoyable rather than forced.

I continue learning because no two groups of children are exactly alike. That is also what keeps every performance meaningful to me.

From Learning Magic to Performing for Children

Over the past decade, I have been fortunate to be part of many birthday parties, school events, community programmes and celebrations.

What I enjoy most about children’s entertainment is the honest reaction from the audience. Children laugh when something is funny, shout out when they are excited, and fully take part when they feel comfortable.

My style is friendly, interactive and family-friendly. I do my best to make the children feel involved, the birthday child feel special, and the parents feel at ease knowing the entertainment is taken care of.

And that's me in 2011 when I started performing for events, parties and celebrations.

What I Believe Makes a Good Kids Magic Show

I do not believe a children’s party needs the most complicated magic trick to be memorable.

To me, a good kids magic show is about connection, timing, laughter and knowing how to involve the children in a way that feels fun and natural. It is about reading the room, adjusting to the age group, keeping the energy right, and making sure everyone has a good time.

I may not claim to be the flashiest magician, but I care deeply about every event I take on. Whether it is a small birthday party at home, a school celebration or a larger family event, I always try my best to give the audience a fun, smooth and meaningful experience.

Because at the end of the day, magic is not only about the trick. It is about the moment it creates.

Southeast Asian Games Carnival

Edwin had the opportunity to perform as part of the Southeast Asian Games carnival, bringing magic and entertainment to a wider family audience.

Nickelodeon Appearance

Edwin appeared on a Nickelodeon programme where children could ask a magician anything, sharing more about magic in a fun and child-friendly way.

Magic Circle Guest Speaker

Edwin was invited as a guest speaker at a magic circle session, where he shared his ideas, experience and perspective on the local magic scene.

Founder of E Magical Moment

Besides performing as Edwin Kids Magician, I am also the founder of E Magical Moment, a kids party entertainment brand in Singapore.

Through E Magical Moment, I have worked with other entertainers and event partners to support birthday parties, school functions, community events and corporate family programmes. This has given me a deeper understanding of what parents and organisers need when planning an event — not just a good show, but also clear communication, suitable recommendations, punctuality and a smooth booking experience.

That experience helps me approach every Edwin Kids Magician booking with more care. I understand the common questions parents often have before booking an entertainer — whether the children will enjoy the show, whether the programme suits the age group, and what needs to be prepared on the day.

My goal is to make the process clearer, easier and more reassuring from the first enquiry to the actual event day.
